I would have to guess that the point behind this is to get to know everyone on a more personal level. Also, somewhere to express our feelings, like a journal. I truly don't see what this has to do with our class or for me, medical schooling, alas, there must be some point to it. :) Happy New Year, and best of luck in your schooling!
I am not sure any lofty point exists for blogging. I think the curriculum "geeks" decided it would be a good and fun experience for students. Bottom line, it is an easy and creative way to earn 15 points a week and might serve some purpose in your career since so many organizations blog these days about every topic under the sun, especially health topics. As you conduct your research, especially as you branch out into internet research you will notice much cutting edge information gets posted on blogs, not all of it reliable, but usually highly interesting and/or entertaining, sometimes very useful.
Hey Misty and Professor Feraldi after I have blogged a little it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I use to hear individuals say they are blogging and I would always look upside their heads like what are they talking about and what is the purpose. More and more I blog I feel I may have a better appreciation for it
